Stunning Kitchen Renovation in Prahran
Creating a gorgeous new kitchen doesn’t have to cost a fortune. With the rising cost of living, we all know how important it is to make every dollar count, without sacrificing quality. Luckily at Kitchen Shack, this is our expertise.
The homeowner’s goal was to create a beautiful functional kitchen and living space but did not want to spend a fortune! He wanted to open up his home, making it more spacious and inviting. Our Moorabbin Designer – Gareth knew he could design a modern, contemporary kitchen that was not only visually stunning but also practical, with ample storage and benchtop space.
The original kitchen featured a u shape design with a servery. This was a common layout when the home was initially built. However, this created a disconnect between the kitchen and the living and dining spaces. The owner desperately wanted to open up this space, bringing more flow between the areas.
Exceptional Kitchen Design Creates a Seamless Flow
Gareth has created a wonderful sense of cohesion with the kitchen and living room, through his clever use of kitchen cabinetry and selection of stone benchtop. Using Platinum Inspire Snowdrift sheen streamline cabinetry, the kitchen literally flows into the living room, creating a beautiful light-filled space. The final renovation photos display the flowing, open living space that the owner dreamed of.
Architectural Appeal
With the addition of Excel Sublime Teak cabinetry, Gareth has added a texture and warmth giving the open space the architectural feel. By removing the servery, an open, functional layout has now been achieved. The selection of YDL Silver Star White stone for the benchtops gives a clean, bright feeling to the kitchen, also creating that open and seamless feel, perfectly capturing the owner’s vision.
Kitchen Shack one-on-one personalised design service
Before booking a design appointment with Kitchen Shack the owner investigated other kitchen companies. He felt that the one-on-one personalised service that designer Gareth offered was superior. Although he used his own builder and installer, they too were impressed with Kitchen Shack. He commented that he liked ‘the simplicity of Kitchen Shack, everything seemed easy with set processes’.
The owner also did a laundry with Kitchen Shack that is now highly functional where a basket can sit on the benchtop behind closed doors, keeping mess hidden from sight.
Delighted with attention to detail
The Designer’s care and attention to detail, even after the design phase was finished was evident to the owner. He was impressed with Gareth’s genuine after-sales commitment to the project. He said ‘he now realises you don’t need to spend a fortune to get good quality design, product and service’. On a personal note, the owner commented ‘A big thanks to Gareth for capturing what I had in my mind and making it even better in reality’.
