Mount Evelyn Kitchen Renovation

Mount Evelyn Kitchen Renovation

Can you achieve your dream kitchen renovation on a budget?

Absolutely you can – just ask this young family from Mount Evelyn. They achieved their dream kitchen renovation on a budget and a tight schedule.

As any parent of young children knows, working on a DIY project whilst juggling midday sleeps, nappy changes and busy work schedules is an exhausting exercise. But, like so many Kitchen Shack customers, this took them on a quest to find a kitchen company that would meet their budget whilst also designing a functional kitchen.

Let’s face it, anything to make toddler mealtimes more enjoyable is worth it!

How did this couple start their kitchen renovation research?

Social media is a great place to start searching for ideas and kitchen styles. The Mount Evelyn couple were very active on social media and saved images of kitchens that suited their home and their needs.

Leanne loved what she found on Kitchen Shack Instagram, and after reading about previous customers success stories on the website, she decided to book her appointment at the Kilsyth Showroom.

Is it important to work with an experienced kitchen designer?

Having worked in the renovation housing market for some time, Leanne was realistic about what they could achieve as DIY renovators, and what should be left to the experts.

Once they met with Nita, the Kitchen Shack designer, they felt super confident that she understood exactly where they were coming from, and what they wanted to achieve.

Nita took into consideration:

  • Designing to a set budget
  • What wasn’t working in the current kitchen.
  • Improvement of workflow & functionality
  • The need for increased storage
  • Creating a style to suit the country home

The new design was completed with all their boxes ticked, plus the bonus of a new double pantry and extra storage, positioned along the adjacent wall to really achieve the increased storage.

It’s the kitchen design experience that makes the greatest improvements.

Do you have to compromise on style to suit budget?

Leanne knew exactly what style of kitchen she wanted and was thrilled to find the perfect cabinetry options at Kitchen Shack.

As the space didn’t have an abundance of natural light, Leanne decided on an all-white kitchen to keep it light and bright.

She was then able to inject some colour with a soft aqua tile for the splash back, and some matching appliances for the bench.

Being clever with your kitchen styling certainly lifts it to a designer level!

The classic white kitchen with styling was created using:

  • Kitchen Shack Shaker White satin cabinetry
  • Kitchen Shack satin gold knobs
  • Tile Cloud Gloss Aqua tiles
  • Temple and Webster aqua cookware
  • Smeg aqua coffee machine

Was the final installation manageable with a busy family?

Possibly the most dreaded stage of a DIY renovation is installation. Leanne wondered how she would pull this off with a toddler, pets and all the dust and mess that comes with it.
Our Mount Evelyn couple made the smart decision to leave this part to the experts and worked with a Kitchen Shack recommended installer to complete their job.

As Leanne said, “I cannot believe anyone installs themselves, it was so easy with the recommended installer.”

DIY renovations certainly save you money, but when you are pressed for time and need to get your kitchen up and running, booking an installer is a great option. Overall, they found the whole process, from the initial design to the final install, an easy process. It helps when your Designer is there for advice every step of the way.

The results speak for themselves. A well designed space that makes a chaotic time feel almost serene!

Our young family just love the new kitchen, especially the extra storage and well organised pantry – every busy Mum’s dream.

If your family kitchen is grating on you then give it a budget makeover and fall in love all over again. If you want to see another successful project head to our Montrose Kitchen Renovation.
