Kitchen Renovation Timeline

Kitchen Renovation Timeline

Planning a kitchen renovation takes time and customers are curious about the actual timeline for their kitchen renovation. At Kitchen Shack we believe it’s important to educate our customers so the following is an expected timeline with Kitchen Shack.

Research: takes 1 week to 4 weeks

Time to kickstart the renovation, start by exploring the web for inspiration, gathering likes and dislikes.

Next visit showrooms to touch the products, gauge the quality and check out guarantees. Don’t forget to ask about free design and quotes.

Then, set a budget you’re comfortable with. Think about DIY opportunities to save cash. Remember there can be additional costs along the way as most renovations generally do!

Focus on your vision – decide on colours, cabinetry, benchtops, handles and all the kitchen qualities you need. Leave the rest to the professionals.

Kitchen Design and Quote: 1-2 weeks

Now let’s get into the exciting part. Measure your kitchen, download our Design Guide and schedule a free in-store design.

When you book online you’ll receive a handy checklist for measurements and what to bring to your design appointment. During the 2 hour design session, you’ll pick your materials and colours and our experts will guide you designing on our 3D software showing you exactly how your new space will look. Remember, if you’ve got other quotes, bring them along – we’ve got a Lowest Prices Guaranteed promise – we’ll beat any similar deal by 5%.

Once you’re thrilled with the design and price, your deposit confirms your design so we then kick off production. This process usually takes 1 to 2 weeks, depending on check measures and demand.

Production: 2 to 6 weeks depending on demand

After your kitchen design is locked in, our manufacturing team get to work. Now it’s time to reach out to your recommended installer. They can also help with sub trades like plumbers, electricians, tilers. We suggest using them for a smooth, speedy installation.

Don’t forget, now’s the perfect time to see if your old kitchen is worth selling and maybe some extra cash!

Kitchen Installation: 1-2 weeks

Pulling out and removal of the old kitchen takes 1 to 2 days, depending on the size. The installer, electrician, plumber will arrive to disconnect old services in preparation for new ones.

Before delivery date, you’ll receive contact so you’ll be prepared to take delivery. This demolition stage means you will have limited access to your kitchen during this time, so set up a temporary kitchen or enjoy takeaway!

Benchtops template and Install: 1-3 weeks

If using laminate templates they will be fitted with the kitchen cabinetry. Stone benchtops will be fitted by a benchtop company who will pick up templates to take away and make the stone to fit. This process from template to return to fit takes 1-3 weeks. It then takes half a day to fit in your home. Once the benchtops have been fitted the plumber and electrician return to fit off your kitchen is ready to use!

Plaster, splashback, paint: 1 week

The splashback or tiler usually takes around 2 days to complete, and the finishing touches of plaster and painting another 2 days to complete.
