Planning a Viewbank Kitchen & Butlers Pantry Renovation?

This Viewbank home first built in 1975 was well overdue for some modern day renovations. The kitchen was no longer suiting the needs for everyday cooking.

The existing space, being a classic u shape kitchen felt disconnected and under utilised for the current partially renovated home. The old cabinetry was aged, limited storage, and a layout that restricted movement. The kitchen lacked functionality and the open space that the family wanted for everyday living.

As passionate cooks who spend a lot of time preparing meals, they were looking for a kitchen that would not only look beautiful but would also make cooking and entertaining easier. So began the journey working with Kitchen Shack Preston to design a space that would match their needs.

Key layout Design Needs

The main brief of the Viewbank kitchen renovation was to design an open connection between the kitchen and adjoining spaces. The previous kitchen was isolating for the cook, making it difficult for family or friends to communication when meals were being prepared.

Working with Mary, Preston Kitchen Designer, the re-designed space is now an open kitchen where cooking and socialising happens easily. The improvement in the layout with the butlers pantry utilises maximum space and creates a more functional kitchen with increased storage.
By keeping the existing layout the costs can be minimised not having to relocate plumbing and electrical costs.

After Kitchen Renovation

Shaker Style creating a Modern Appeal

To achieve the modern look while keeping the style of the home the shaker style cabinetry was selected for the kitchen and butlers pantry. This style provides the recessed detail and texture using the colour white to open the space further to create a bright space.
The addition of the black Savoy handles, provides the contrast of black and white to complement black windows and appliances. This combination creates the balance of classic design with modern aesthetics.

Quality Design at an Affordable Price

Being passionate about cooking means designing quality surfaces durable for the daily demands of meal preparation. Using affordable options like Shaker cabinetry and YDL Stone throughout the Viewbank kitchen and butlers pantry, provides a beautiful look at an affordable price.
The larger benchtop space now provides increased space for food preparation and entertaining, making everyday cooking more enjoyable and efficient.

A Functional Butlers Pantry

With storage and functionality major drivers for this renovation, the addition of a butlers pantry is the solution. Now the increased meal preparation benchtops and modern storage has created a separate work zone for food preparation, appliance and pantry organisation. This allows the main kitchen to be clutter free while keeping everything within easy reach.

The butlers pantry complements the main kitchen with matching shaker cabinetry, handles and stone benchtops to provide a complimentary look and feel.

What was a tight and dated kitchen is now a functional and stylish space that is the true heart of the home.

The result is a beautiful, practical kitchen and butlers pantry that the Viewbank clients will enjoy for many years to come.
