A lovely family of four with two teenage boys recently purchased a small, older style home in a great Preston location, with a renovation in mind. Purchasing at an affordable price, provided them the opportunity to build an extension, adding more space and value to the home.
This extension at the rear of the home, formed the new kitchen and living room space overlooking a decked area. Finally, their teenage sons no longer had to share a room. For the first time in their lives, the boys had their own rooms and the family would have a new kitchen. This was a game-changer for the family who loved cooking and family gatherings.
Initially, the family began their kitchen renovation journey at Bunnings and Ikea but ultimately were looking for a more personalised one-on-one service and a higher product quality. Mary’s creativity, experienced design and attention to detail, turned an old tired kitchen into a stunning, open plan, spacious area perfect for family living. So much storage, a gorgeous modern feel and better flow for a family of four.

New kitchen cabinetry is designed in popular Shaker Aries Satin creating an airy, light-filled feel. In warm contrast, Mary has detailed Excel Urban Oak cabinetry beneath the Island bench.
The classic shaker upper cabinetry has a modern overhang feature, whilst the base cabinets incorporate profile handles, creating a seamless, integrated feel.
The newly designed open plan kitchen features a beautiful Island bench in YDL Deluxe Rosemee stone. The Rosemee has a soft cream base with subtle touches of light grey that beautifully complement the style and colours of cabinetry selected.
Not only does the island bench create a stunning aesthetic, but it cleverly incorporates additional storage beneath. Push-to-open handleless cabinetry gives a modern feel to the island bench setup.
The clever design of the island bench also doubles as a breakfast bar, where the family can sit to enjoy casual meals or to chat whilst meals are being prepared. This creates a feeling of ‘family togetherness’ and consolidates the sense of the kitchen truly being the heart of the home.
Another key feature in the kitchen is the mid-height, double opening pantry doors with large drawers beneath, together with the adjacent, tall pantry unit. They provide easy accessibility, are very practical with their space-saving design, and are visually appealing.
Under bench drawers throughout the kitchen creates even more storage space for the family and are a modern, functional addition to the kitchen. All cabinetry feature Hettich hardware with soft close hinges and quality drawer runners.
